Softbank to purchase Chip Ampere designer in a $ 6.5 billion agreement

Softbank group He said on Wednesday that he would acquire Ampere Computing, a startup that designed a server -based server chip, for $ 6.5 billion. The company hopes that the agreement will be closed in the second half of 2025, according to a statement.

Ampere will operate as an independent subsidiary and keep its headquarters in Santa Clara, California, according to the statement.
