Six injured in Florida State University


At least six people have been taken to the hospital after a shootout at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

A person was taken in custody after the shooting in the University Student Union building on Thursday, according to CBS News, the United States partner of the BBC.

President Donald Trump said he had been informed of the incident at the beginning of a meeting with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the White House, calling « a shame, a horrible thing. »

One of the victims brought to the hospital is in critical condition, according to the Memorial Tallahassee health installation, with five others in serious condition.

The university has canceled all classes until Friday, and sports events were also canceled at the weekend.

Police responded to an active call from shooters around local noon time, said college.

He then sent an alert warning to the students and the campus to « look for refuge and wait for more instructions ».

« One of my classmates alerted the phone and announced it to the rest of the class, » Ava Arenado told CBS News Miami.
