There has been an explosion in a deposit of Russian ammunition to east Moscow, military authorities and local media are reporting.
On Tuesday, the explosion in a ammunition warehouse took place in a defense facility in the Western Vladimirim region. It is believed that the site is a storage site of key ammunition for the Russian army.
The Russian military reported the explosions, saying that the ammunition had been detonated after the storage building was burning due to « security violations », according to the media.
An emergency has been declared in the Kirzhach district and residents of nearby villages have been evacuated.
Both Russian and Ukrainian media channels and Telegram accounts published videos and images of the site, showing a van with flames of meters and altites and clouds of mushrooms of the explosion.
Russian media reported the Ministry of Defense saying: « As a result of a fire in the territory of a military unit in the Vladimir region, the ammunition stored in a warehouse detonated. »
The site is an installation in the 51st Arsenal of the main Mass and Artillery Direction, about 130 kilometers north -east of the Russian capital, according to local media.
The governor of the Vladimir region said that an explosion had occurred in the district and that more details would be published later.
Alexander Avdeyev also threatened journalists and fines resident if they shared unofficial information about the explosion.
