A woman in Japan was arrested for allegedly closing her naked partner on the balcony at night, causing her death from the cold, police said on Friday.
The 54 -year -old was arrested by accusation of lethal assault and prisoner, southern police in the South Nagasaki region of Japan told the AFP news agency.
In February 2022, the woman « ordered the victim to go out on a balcony while naked and limited him, » said local officer Masafumi Tanigawa.
The next day, police rushed to the scene after an emergency call, and the 49 -year -old was « almost dead » in a room, said Tanigawa, adding that he later died by hypothermia.
The temperature that night went down to a minimum of 3.7 Celsius (38.66 Fahrenheit), the Mainichi Daily reported.
The woman had previously attacked her partner, who was her common law husband, with a knife, leaving him with wounds on the nose that took two weeks to heal.
An autopsy revealed an wound cut into the nose of the man and the police are investigating the possibility that the man was a victim of daily domestic violence, Mainichi reported.
The woman denies the charges, saying -to the police that « I have done nothing, » Tanigawa said.
Police did not say why it had been so long to collect -formally.
Last year, about one in four spouses in Japan reported experiencing physical abuse by their partners, Japan Times reportedQuoting government statistics. Among those who said they were physically abused by their spouses, 12.6% reported that they considered their lives to be in danger.
