The President of the United States told journalists in the Oval Office on Friday that he did not expect a truce to « a specific number of days », but he wanted it to be « quickly ».
His comments came hours after the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, warned that the United States would leave the conversations « if it will not happen. »
« We will not continue with this effort for weeks and months at the end, » said Rubio, who added that the United States had « other priorities to focus. »
Trump, when asked about the agreement between Russian and Ukraine, said: « We are talking here about the people who die. We will be able to stop, ideally.
« Now, if, for some reason, one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we will only say, » You are nonsense, you are silly, you are horrible people « , and we will only make a pass. »
Russia launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and has set various conditions in any potential cessation of fire.
Despite the initial confidence of the Trump administration that could ensure an agreement rapidly, attempts to reach a complete fire, they should not yet be materialized, with Washington blaming the two parties.
After a meeting with European leaders in Paris on a potential cessation of fire on Thursday, Rubio said to journalists on Friday: « We must determine very quickly now, and I’m talking about a matter of days, whether it can be done or not. »
« If it will not happen, we will only continue, » he said about Truce’s conversations.
He said it was clear that a peace agreement would be difficult to make, but there were signs that could be made soon.

EpaRubio’s notice follows a separate news that Ukraine and the United States took the first step in hitting a mineral agreement, after an initial agreement was downloaded when a February meeting between Trump and Zelensky broke out in a public shouting party.
The two countries on Thursday signed a Memorandum of intent stating that they are intended to establish an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine as part of an economic collaboration agreement.
The aim is to end the agreement on April 26, according to a note published by the Ukrainian government.
The details of any agreement are not clear. Previous leaks have suggested that the agreement has spread beyond minerals to control Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as well as its oil and gas.
Ukrainian negotiators have sought to resist Trump’s demands that a joint investment fund peasant the United States for previous military aid, but they have apparently accepted their statement that would help the country to recover -after the war.

Peskov said Putin had not yet published a new order about temporary cessation.
On Thursday, Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met Rubio and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in Paris to discuss how to end the war.
Sybiha said « they had discussed the roads to a just and lasting peace, including -the cessation of fire, multinational contingent and Safety Guarantees For Ukraine. «
