Aircraft with more than 200 United States deported Venezuelans have landed in El Salvador, hours after a North -American judge ordered Trump’s administration not to.
El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele wrote on social media that 238 members of the Venezuelan Colla Train of Aragua had arrived, along with 23 members of the MS-13 international group, Sunday morning.
His arrival at the Central American Nation came after A Federal Judge blocked United States President Donald Trump to invoke a Century War Act To justify the deportations, which Bukele mocked in a later post.
« Oops … too late, » he said.
The United States movement to send alleged criminals from other countries to El Salvador was an agreement by the United States Secretariat, Marco Rubio, called « the most unprecedented and extraordinary migratory agreement in any part of the world. »
Bukele wrote that the detainees were immediately taken to the El Salvador (Cecot) terrorism confinement « for a period of a year », which was « renewable », suggesting that they could stay there longer.
« The United States will pay a very low share for them, but a high for us, » he added.
Rubio confirmed that the alleged members of the band arrived in El Salvador and thanked Bukele, calling « the strongest security leader in our region. »
Hours earlier, on Saturday evening, United States District Judge James Boasberg ordered a stop to deportations covered by Trump’s proclamation, which invoked the Aliens Enemies Act of 1798.
The law allows the rule to detain and deport people who threaten the country’s security without a due process.

Venezuela criticized the warning of war, saying that he « unfairly criminalizes Venezuelan migration » and « evokes the darkest episodes in human history, from slavery to the horror of Nazi concentration camps. »
After hearing that the aircraft with deportees had been removed, Judge Boasberg ordered them to go back, the Washington Post reported.
Rubio said in a statement on Sunday that deportations happened under the law of aliens enemies and did not mention the judge’s sentence.
He said, « Hundreds of violent criminals were sent out of our country. »
His deportation after the judge’s ruling has raised legal issues.
A lawyer for a rights group involved in the lawsuit against the White House said he had asked the government on Sunday if the court’s order had violated.
« (We) We hope to hear, in addition to trying to do our own research, » said Lee Gerarnt with the American Union of Civil Freedoms (ACLU) in a statement.
The Department of Justice had resorted to the judge’s ruling overnight, according to BBC media partner CBS News.
The BBC has contacted the Justice Department to comment.
A video attached to one of Bukele’s social media publications shows the lines of people with their hands and feet that were escorted by armed officials of the planes.
Some are placed on the back of the armored vehicles, while others, which are abandoned when the officers push their heads down, are forced to buses.
The video also shows an aerial view of a long, winding police escort leading the buses to the famous Mega-Jail Cecot de El Salvador.
Maximum construction prison is part of Bukele’s effort to combat the country’s organized crime.
The installation, which can contain up to 40,000 people, has been criticized by human rights groups for the abuse of inmates.

The arrangement between the United States and El Salvador is a sign of strengthening diplomatic ties.
« Thank you for your help and friendship, » Rubio told Bukele Sunday.
El Salvador was the second country Rubio, the highest diplomat in the United States, visited after being sworn.
During this trip, which took place in FebruaryBukele made an initial offer to bring us deported, saying that he would help pay for the massive Cecot facility.
The latest deportations in Trump’s second term are part of the President’s long -haul crusade against illegal immigration in the United States.
In January, Trump signed an executive order by declaring Aragua and MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations.
He won voters on the campaign court, in part, promoting the largest deportation operation in the history of the United States.
The agenda has so far not fulfilled expectations, with the Customs Immigration and Application Agents (ICE) who do not comply with Trump’s daily quota for arrests.
A recent report suggested that ICE agents had deported fewer immigrants in February than the same month before during the previous administration under Joe Biden – 11,000 in February 2025, compared to 12,000 in February 2024, according to NBC News.
