The United States have stopped their intelligence compartment UkraineCutting the flow of vital information that the nation has helped in the war to lead Russian invaders, but Trump administration officials on Wednesday said that positive talks between Washington and Kiev mean that it can only be a short suspension.
Information on the intentions and military movements of Russia has been central to the defense of Ukraine and a strong indication of the support of the United States and other western allies. The suspension occurs after Trump paved a military aid in Ukraine and is another sign of how America’s relationship has transformed with the nearby allies.
« We have taken a step back and we are stopping and reviewing all aspects of this relationship, » said national security advisor Mike Waltz on Wednesday.
The comments from the main officials of the Trump administration suggest that the decision is part of the broadest negotiations between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to negotiate a peace agreement with Russia and that intelligence could begin to leave Ukraine again soon.
The director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, called the suspension a « pause » and said that he arrived after the disastrous meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy in the Oval office last week. Ratcliffe said Trump wanted to know that Zelenskyy was serious about peace.
« On the military front and the intelligence front, the pause that allowed this to happen will disappear, and I think we will work on the shoulder with Ukraine as we have, » said Ratcliffe.

U.S. intelligence attendance is vital to Ukraine to keep track of Russian troops movements and select goals. Ukrainians use information when operating high mobility artillery rocket systems supplied to the United States, and the U.S. Army Tactic Missile System, known as Atacms.

The intelligence of the United States and other allies also helps Ukraine to prepare for Russian attacks and provided critical information in the first days of the war that allowed Ukraine to frustrate President Russian Vladimir Putin for a quick victory.
The CIA refused to answer questions about the change in intelligence sharing.
Ukraine could soon receive U.S. intelligence once Zelenskyy shows Trump that he is serious about participating in Turrump’s terms, Waltz said in « Fox & Friends » on Fox News Channel.
« I think if we can nail these negotiations and move towards these negotiations and, in fact, to put some measures of trust creation on the table, the president will take a harsh look to lift this pause, » he said. « We need to know that both parties sincerely negotiate towards a partial peace, then permanent. »
The movements of the new administration have been dismayed in Europe and Democrats in Washington, who say that Trump deprives a north -American ally of assistance they need to fight Russia.
The flow of information in Ukraine has saved lives, said on Wednesday the United States representative Jim Himes of Connecticut, the most prominent Democrat of the House’s Intelligence Committee.

« The idea that we will now retain the intelligence that saves the lives of Ukrainians who fight and die is unforgivable, » said Himes.
Ukraine officials refused to comment on Wednesday about the country’s intelligence relationship with Washington. CIA officials also refused to answer the questions.
It is unclear whether the North -American suspension affects intelligence distribution links between Ukraine and other western powers, including four of the five eyes, a shared intelligence coalition in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer spokesman Dave Parents would not confirm if the United Kingdom continues to supply Ukraine with U.S. intelligence.
He said that Britain was « doing everything to put Ukraine in the strongest position possible in all aspects of our support, especially around defense and security, and our position has not changed. »
