The Trump administration is expanding its anti-DEI campaign to European companies.
Government officials have sent letters to companies in France and the European Union maintaining North -Americans, warning them to comply with an executive order that prohibits diversity, capital programs and inclusion if they want to maintain their contracts.
According to the document, « the contractors of the State Department must certify that they do not operate any program that promotes that it violates any applicable andiscrimination law and agrees that this certification is material for the purposes of the decision to pay the Government and, therefore, subject to the False Claims Act ».
The letters, distributed by the American embassies in Paris and all the EU, also included a questionnaire that ordered companies that certify their compliance with federal laws against discrimination. The existence of the letter was first reported Friday for the French business Daily Les Echos.
North -American diplomats in East EU and Belgium also sent the letter, the Financial Times informed.
Aviation and defense groups, consulting providers and infrastructure companies are among the French companies potentially exposed to the administration’s demands.
The movement occurs at the same time as the United States Federal Communication Commission has alerted Walt Disney and your ABC unit that will Start an investigation into DEI’s efforts to the media giant.
The French Ministry of Finance expressed concern about the United States Government approach, saying that its values do not reflect that of France. The development emphasizes the increasing tensions between the United States and Europe, especially when the United States threaten European property rates, including cars and wine, and challenge European policies, such as the Ukraine invasion.
