The interim leader of Syria, Ahmad al-Sharaa, whose rebel group led the flash offensive dismissed by dictator Bashar al-Assad in December, signed a temporary constitution on Thursday, stipulating that the country will be ruled under the Islamist government for a period of five-year transition.
