The United States army said that a vehicle used by four soldiers who disappeared in Lithuania has been submerged in the water as search efforts continued for missing troops.
In a statement on Wednesday, the army said « » the Recovery Vehicle with Hercules M88 that the four North Soldiers disappeared during a training exercise were located in Lithuania. «
Army comments occur after NATO secretary general, Mark Rutte, told a press conference in Warsaw, Poland, that the four soldiers had died in an « incident. »

Lithuania’s military had previously said that there was a search for the four North -Americans and a tracked vehicle that had disappeared on Tuesday afternoon.
The military wrote about X later that an « intensive » rescue operation continued without confirming the death of US staff.
According to a statement from the United States Army, the soldiers had trained near Pabrade in east of Lithuania, near the border with Belarus.
« The soldiers, all of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, were performing tactical training scheduled at the time of the incident, » the statement read.
