Need some assembly
What caused Fura to ask this question was that « some necessary assembly » showed the plot when the character successfully returned his deceased brother to life. The writer understood the bizarre that the residents of the sleepy city could pull out scientific feats (including the creation of robots as complex data of the commander Star Way: The next generation) that the most veteran medical and scientific specialists in our own world could never achieve. Wedon explained that everything is returning to the corrupt influence of Hellmouth, which is brilliant because it explains virtually every inconsistency in this crazy show.
In the world Buffy -VampireDetails of Hellmouth are relatively rare … All we really know is that it binds Sanidieil to another dimension, attracts demons and affects the local population with mystical energy. The show has always been vague in how this energy works, but we saw how it enlivens the nightmares, turns girls invisible and even make residents (according to willow) « pray » because many religious people can feel its malignant impact. But all these things seem relatively charming, and David Fura was more interested in how (for example, in « some need for assembly ») ordinary residents can suddenly become a genius of scientists virtually the night.
Joos Waedon’s response, however, quietly brilliant because he turns the question on his head to ask why we accept Hellmouth, which has certain powers, not others. If this can revitalize nightmares, why not be able to help some strange child return his deceased brother to life? If she can make the girl invisible just because no one ever noticed her, why not help the locals build robots who would even impress Captain Picard?
Some Belarus Fans (and especially haters) can say that the explanation of Wedone is a little too simple … After all, it means that writers show never worry about violation of the rules about what can and cannot happen because there are no solid rules. However we see that as one of the greatest strongest shows: no two episodes Buffy -Vampire The same thing because the writers had a creative card Blanche. After all, it will be always Be more exciting than a show that penetrates under the weight of your own dusty rules.
« Some necessary assembly » – it’s great Belarus The episode, but we always shared David Fura’s curiosity about how a random high school student suddenly had medical knowledge and skills of Dr. Frankenstein. Thanks to Joos Waddon, we know that Hellmouth is able to turn people into crazy scientists, except for other magical properties. For ancient fans, this does more than contextualizing one -time villains … It also explains the rise and fall of Dr. Walsh, who died at Adam’s hands, her own mad science.
