Ex -U.S. representative family, Mia Love, focuses on enjoying the time they have left with her after her Cancer stopped Answering the treatments, the daughter of the Utah Republican, Abigale, said on Saturday.
« Hello friends, I’m the daughter of Mia Abigale. Many of you are aware that the mother has been fighting GBM brain cancer, » ABigale wrote in her mother’s x account.
Love was diagnosed in 2022 with Glioblastoma, a brain tumor, and revealed its diagnosis in August 2023.
Abigale added: « Unfortunately, its cancer no longer responds to treatment and cancer is moving forward. We have changed our focus of the treatment to enjoy our remaining time with it. »

Love became the first Black Republican woman chosen in Congress when she won a redrawn district near Salt Lake City in 2014, which had been represented by a Democrat. He was also the first member of the Utah Black Congress.
« I was not elected to Saratoga Springs because of my race or gender or my heels, » Love said in 2013 of his time as mayor of the city of Utah. « I was elected by the people who were there because I had a plan and a vision of making us economically stable. »
The 49 -year -old girl met two terms in Congress, working on the Financial Services Committee, and was the only Republican in Black Caucus in Congress.
She was defeated by a Democrat In 2018.

Love last published his diagnosis in May, writing: « In recent years, they have not been easy, but I have found strength and consolation in my faith and my constant support and love for my family. Together, they have given me hope! Any challenge you have now, you continue to fight and know that there is hope. »
Love told a group of young people from the church in 2023 that when he went on vacation in 2022, the headaches that had begun to get worse.
« As soon as we landed, I heard a headache, » he told the group, according to KSL Radio. « When we went to the beach, the sun reflex to the water worsened my headache. My husband took me to the hospital. »
Doctors found a tumor and underwent a surgery to remove 95%.

After it was revealed that the tumor was malignant, love began chemotherapy, radiation treatments and, eventually, immunotherapy.
Love, which had previously been converted to Catholicism in the Church of Jesus of the Church of the Saints of recent days, told CNN last year that « he was looking for a care in my faith and my science. »
Late Senator John McCain was also diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2017. Died in 2018.
Despite his diagnosis, love remained politically committed during the last election cycle, denouncing an attempt to murder President Trump in July X.
« Political violence is negligible, » he wrote. « There is, there is no, no place, a place for our Republic. If you find yourself supporting or wishing you violence, you know that you are wrong. We recommend that the civility, reasonable discourse and the appropriate civilian commitment sooner for anger and hatred. »

Utah’s governor, Spencer Cox, wrote: « Mia Love has served Utah with integrity and his strength and grace continue to inspire us. Our hearts are with Mia and his family during this difficult time. Utah is with you. »
