Alfred’s damaged winds and torrential rains continue to ravage in the Queensland region of Australia.
Forestry and torrential rain have caused widespread electrical interruptions and triggered floods in parts of the east coast of Australia, with a murdered person and a dozen wounded soldiers.
After days passing outside the coast as a tropical cyclone in category 2 and beat a stretch of coast of 400 km (250 miles), Alfred weakened significantly Sunday, but still left a significant disturbance along his way.

In the Bay of Hervey de Queensland, more than 230 mm (9 inches) rain was recorded in just six hours on Sunday morning, according to the Prime Minister of State, David Crispafulli.
« We have seen you culminate in Flash flood reports in houses and companies, » said Crispafulli, who said the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.
News.com.au reported that emergency services at Hervey Bay have made multiple rescues « in one of their worst weather emergencies » in the area.
The Australian Meteorology Office said that heavy rainfall that could lead to Flash floods were developed on Sunday and could affect Brisbane, as well as the Queensland regional centers of Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
The damaged winds with gusts of about 90 km/h (60 km/h) were also possible in the state, the office said on its website.
Brisbane Airport was reopened on Sunday, but published in X that « continuous time can affect the calendar ».
Queensland will decide on Sunday later if about 1,000 state schools, closed due to bad weather, will be reopened on Monday.
The neighboring state of New South Wales (NSW) has confirmed that all public schools closed on Friday because Alfred will be closed again.
On Saturday, a man died in a flood in the north of the NSW.
In the meantime, 13 soldiers of the Australian Defense Force en route to help residents in the city of Lismore NSW were injured in a road collision, according to officials. According to Sydney Morning Herald, two of the soldiers remain in serious state.
