Syria’s temporary president Ahmed Sharaa has requested the national unity after days of clashes, where it was reported that Syrian security forces have killed hundreds of civilian minority civilians.
The Human Rights Observatory (Sohr) of the British Base (Sohr), which oversees developments in Syria, said that about 745 civilians were killed in around 30 « massacres » aimed at Alawites on Friday and Saturday.
The BBC has not been able to independently verify these claims.
« We must preserve national unity and civil peace as much as possible and, God willing, we can live together in this country, » Sharaa said from a Mosque in Damascus.
The developments are part of the « expected challenges » after the fall of the Assad regime, the President added in a video message.
Hundreds of people have fled their homes in the coastal provinces of Latakia and Tartus, a Heartland of President Deposited Bashar in -assad, who also belongs to the Alawite sect.

Violence has left the Alawite community in « a state of terror », a city activist told the BBC on FridayWith hundreds of people fleeing the affected areas.
According to Reuters news agency, he sought refuge in a Russian military base in Hmeimim in Latakia.
Reuters shared video images showed dozens of people who sang « people want Russian protection » out of the base.
Meanwhile, dozens of families have fled to the neighboring Lebanon, according to local media.
The UN special envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, said he was « deeply alarmed » by « very worrying reports of civilian victims » in the coastal areas of Syria.
He called on all sides to refrain from actions that could « destabilize » the country and jeopardize a « credible and inclusive political transition ».
