Calin Georgescu, a Romanian far-right populist, has appealed against the decision of the Central Electoral Office (BEC) in the country to participate in participating in the May presidential election.
The Judges of the Constitutional Court will meet on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the call of Georgescu and a final decision should be issued on Wednesday evening.

In a social media post, Georgescu also called a ban on a « direct blow to the heart of democracy around the world. »
The decision of the election office caused Bucarest on Sunday evening. He broke up between police supporters and Georgescu who had gathered their thousands outside the beak offices.
The BBC saw at least one car turned and the windows of the neighboring bars were broken. At least four people were detained. More protests are expected on Monday and beyond.
Georgescu posted a video on social media thanking the Romanian people, but adds that « we do not have to give birth to violence or other forms of this type compared to how it was last night. We are moving forward with great confidence for the future of this country. »
George Simion, an ally of Georgescu and the leader of the Far-Right Opposition Alliance to unite Romanians, the second largest party in Parliament, said on Monday that Romania was « the middle of a coup. »
In a Sunday night video, George Simion requested that « those who committed the coup were put in public for what they did … Whether you like the Calin Georgescu or not, he is the man that the Romanians voted on. »
The Romanian Attorney General has opened a case against Simion by instance of violence, and on Monday he went back the comments, saying he was using a « metaphor ».
On February 26, Georgescu was detained to interrogate him on his way to register as a candidate for the May election, which caused tens of thousands of Romanians to leave on the streets of Bucharest in protest.
