Mookie Betts Will miss the Los Angeles Dodgers« Tokyo series against the Chicago cubes because of an illness. Dodgers director Dave Roberts announced the decision on Sunday night.
Roberts said that Betts begins to feel better, but he has lost almost 15 pounds and still tries to rehydrate -and gain strength. Roberts added that the eight times all-star could fly to the United States before the team to try to rest and prepare for home opening on March 27.
The cubes and Dodgers open the basketball season of the Major League on Tuesday in the dome of Tokyo. A second game is Wednesday.
« He will not play in these two games, » said Roberts. « When you are dehydrated, this is what a person opens to soft tissue injuries. We are very aware of this. »

Betts went through a light training Sunday, but quickly tired. He began suffering from the flu symptoms in Arizona, the day before the team left for Japan. He still made the long journey by plane, but has not recovered as quickly as expected.
Betts makes the full -time transition to short duration this season after playing most of his career in the right field and the second base. The MVP 2018 won .289 with 19 Homers and 75 RBI last season, helping the Dodgers to win the world series.
