The Chief of Staff of the Chamber Speaker Mike Johnson, R-la., Was recently arrested for allegedly driving while poisoning, Fox News can confirm.
Hayden Haynes was arrested just before midnight on Tuesday evening to allegedly put on a vehicle’s wheel while drunk. The arrest took place around an hour after the President Donald TrumpThe joint address of the congress was wrapped.
United States Police Capitol (USCP), who did not identify the suspect, confirmed the detention to Fox News.
« A driver went back to a vehicle parked last night at 23:40, » said a USCP spokesman. « We answered them and arrested them for DUI. »

Haynes has worked at Johnson’s office since 2017 and became Chief of Staff in October 2023, according to Legistorm Records. He was the manager of the Johnson campaign in 2016.
A Louisiana native, Haynes graduated from Louisana Tech University with a degree in 2011, then obtained a graduate degree from Gonzaga University in 2014.
In a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, Johnson’s office said the speaker still has « full faith and confidence » in Haynes’ ability to lead the speaker’s office. «

« The speaker is aware of the encounter last night that involved his chief of staff and the Capitol police, » he read the statement. « The announcer has known and worked closely with Hayden for almost a decade and trusted him to serve as a cabinet chief for his entire possession in Congress. »
« Due to this and Hayden’s reputation between members and staff, the speaker has full faith and confidence in Hayden’s ability to run the announcer’s office. »
Before the arrest took place, Johnson appeared in « Hannity » to praise Trump’s speech and said that the Democrats « were embarrassed by themselves and their party » disturbing the event.
