March Madness: Uconn’s Geno Auriemma complains from the tournaments system


Geno Auriemma punched the NCAA tournament system while preparing the Uconn huskies For their sweet 16 match against the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Women’s Basketball Tournament moved to two regional sites by 2023, which means that this season the semifinals and regional endings will take place in Birmingham, Alabama or Spokane, Washington.

Eight teams are attached to each regional site.

The Huskies wrapped their home schedule at the Gampel Pavilion on Monday in Storrs, Connecticut. The team had to fly to Spokane, Washington, for the next round of the tournament. If the team wins at the Spokane Regional, fly to Tampa.

Due to the number of teams, Auriemma said that his team will have to wake up at five in the home at a half-hour shoot at 19:30

Auriemma’s workforce has become accustomed to strange travel situations.

Last year, the team went from playing Storrs to play in Portland, Oregon, regional, and then in the Women’s Final Four in Cleveland. By 2023, the team moved from Storrs to Seattle before losing to the regional semifinals.

Uconn is the number 2 seed of this tournament and Oklahoma is the No. 3 then. The teams release on Saturday at 5.30pm.
