A poet and composer are inspired by Libyan history to create a modern peace anthem for his divided country.
Could Libya solve your political problems by reviewing a decades agreement that once gathered its tribal factions in war in national reconciliation?
Since the demolition of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, the country has been in a constant state of turbulence. Now, the poet Ahmed Al-Terkawi and the composer Hanan al-Ruwie are embedded in a creative project Together to seek inspiration for the history of Libya, specifically from the 1946 Harabi letter, to create a musical work of hope for the future of Libya. But first, they encounter writers, historians, tribal elderly and descendants today of the original signatories of the letter. This allows them to understand the history of the country and how Emir Idris al -enussi convinced the tribes at war so that they would set aside their differences and gather in an act of unusual reconciliation.
Both bring together everything they need to write and then perform their powerful anthem that asks for peace in their war with war.
