« It’s in a good mood. He’s a strong girl, » her father, Delmar Caldwell, said As it happens Host Nil Köksal. « He is a better person than me. I don’t think he could have done so long. »
Not replying to your phone
Caldwell got the wind that something went wrong when Cassell’s mother called him last week and said that his daughter did not pick up the phone. He tried to shout -he himself and went directly to the voicemail.
So they contacted their children, from 16 to 21 years and 23 years. But he also did not respond to his calls or his messages.
« We knew something was going wrong, » he said. « I mean, it’s a thing to ignore their parents but not their children. I would never. »

Once it was clear, police began investigating and the family called on social media.
Caldwell says he spent the week leading to different cities, following the cables of people who said they had seen him. He went to a store to check the surveillance pictures when he received a police call saying that Cassell had been found alive and being taken to the hospital.
« I had to throw -to me, » he said, with his voice. « I had lost it, but I was very grateful and grateful that he was alive. It was beginning to lose hope. »
What happened?
Cassell, he turned out, had fallen asleep as he drove again from a friend’s house. When he woke up, he was at the bottom of a six -meter -deep ditch in Brook, ind., Invisible to the cars passing.
« He told me yesterday he was listening to vehicles by car all the time, » said Caldwell. « And I was trying to do it, but I had several broken ribs, which made it difficult. »
He said his phone had fallen under the passenger’s seat, and he couldn’t. He has suffered compound fractures, when the broken bones are pierced on the skin, on both legs and a wrist.
Finally, the drummer of his phone died.
« That’s why when we called, I went directly to the voicemail, » Caldwell said.
Caldwell says his daughter told her that she should keep hot using a consolker in her back seat. During the first days he drank from a bottle of water he had in his car.
When it was finished, he had to trust the water in the bottom of the ditch.
« He was able to open the driver’s side door … and he was using his good arm to turn his clothes down and let him get wet, and then remove -up and suck the water from his clothes, » Caldwell said.
Good Samaritana, Firefighters volunteer in rescue
According to the Newton County Xerif officeIt was a good Samaritano who finally saved Cassell’s life.
Johnny Martinez operated nearby for a drainage company on Tuesday. From his point of view, he saw Cassell’s car.
Police say he called his supervisor, who went to a volunteer fire chief. The two approached the vehicle and saw Cassell inside.

The first to respond to three different volunteer fire parks helped to go out, according to police.
« Newton County can be small, but we are powerful, thanks in large part to our volunteer firefighters », » Xerif Shannon Cotthran said in a post on social media. « In my book, Mr. Martínez is a hero, and we can never thank him enough for his quick gaze and action. »
CBC could not reach Martinez for comments. Caldwell says he is trying to organize a meeting to thank him in person.
« I don’t think he had done another day, » he said.
A long path ahead
In the meantime, Cassell remains in the intensive care unit. Since his wounds were not treated for so long, Caldwell says doctors are trying to prevent the infection from spreading.
« They are working to try to help -keep their legs … and we hope his arm, » his father said.
Cassell’s daughter has created a page from Go Fund Me titled « Brieonna Cassell’s medical recovery support » to help pay what they expect to be a long way ahead, including several surgeries.
However, Caldwell says that his daughter takes everything right away. The first thing he did when he left the emergency room, according to him was food.
« He ate like a pig, » he said with a laugh. « She would only do it as fast as she could. »
When he first arrived at the hospital, he says he was asking for Sherbet Orange. He couldn’t believe it, he says, but they assured that he had a little as soon as the doctors gave the whole, along with a more substantial meal, of course.
Whatever happens afterwards, Caldwell says he is only happy that he has survived.
« We are very grateful, » he said. « It is alive. It is safe. It is warm. »
