The head of the board, Brice Oligui Nguema, won the Gabon presidential election with more than 90 percent of the votes, according to the provisional results published on Sunday. The participation was 70.4 percent and no other candidate received more than 3 percent, in the surveys that marked the first vote since a 2023 blow to the Bongo dynasty.
