A North – snatching a wombat From his mother as he apologized to Australia on Saturday, saying he had acted for concern about the well -being of young people.
Australian authorities had threatened Sam Jones with deportation after posting a video on his Instagram account of his career with a Joey Wombat in his mother’s hands on the night’s road.
« I ran, so as not to take away his mother’s Joey, but out of fear he could attack me, » Jones, who also uses the name Samantha Strable, published on social media, also published.
« The judgment I made right now was never from a place of damage or stealing a Joey, » he added.
Prime Minister Anthony Albananese said that the video of the young Wombat who was taken was « just an outrage. »
Internal Affairs Minister Tony Burke said his department was investigating whether Jones had breached the terms of his visa before leaving the country on Friday.

« There has never been a better day to be a baby in Australia, » Burke said after Jones voluntarily left Australia.
Burke said he did not expect Jones to request an Australian visa again.
The animal seems to be a common Wombat, also known as a naked nose wombat. It is a protected marsupial only in Australia.
Jones, based in Montana, said he was « very worried » when he found the two Wombats on a road that was not moving.
« Because the Wombats were so often struck on the Australian roads, I stopped to ensure -to get off the road safely and did not hit themselves, » said Jones.
« However, as you see in the video, when I approached them, Joey did not move or escaped. I was concerned that I could have been ill or injured, and I made a trial to pick up the Joey and see if it was the case, » he added.

Animal welfare experts said Jones could have harmed Joey by hitting him by his two ovelegs.
Jones said that Joey returned to his mother and said they both left the road.
« I have made a great reflection on this situation and I realized that I have not managed this situation the best I should have, » he said.
« I have learned from this situation and I am sorry for the discomfort I have caused, » he added.
Jones did not immediately answer the Associated Press questions on Saturday, including where and when the Wombat baby was captured.
A Wombat expert said the video revealed that Joey had the command of skin disease and would die without treatment.
Jones also did not tell the AP where he was on Saturday.
