Those thirsty giants: Big Tech data centers multiply in Spain drought




In recent years, Spain has become a leading destination for technological giants to configure its data centers in Europe. Madrid even aims to become a « digital center » on the continent, such as Germany and the United Kingdom. But what cost to the environment? To refresh their servers, data centers consume billions of liters of drinking water: a huge concern in Spain, one of the countries most affected by drought in Europe.
